Today I hosted a live, national webinar for the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). The presentation was based on the article I had published and lasted the longest hour I’ve ever experienced. I’ve done more presentations than I can count, and I’d say that I’m great at public speaking, but my excitement about the webinar soon turned into nervousness.
Minutes before it was scheduled to start, I took a deep breath and reminded myself to be grateful for an opportunity to experience something new. It was uncomfortable at first and slightly scary, but I’m so glad I took a chance at it.
I talked non-stop for 55 minutes, but can hardly recall anything I said. Since most of it is a blur, it was nice to receive some tweets letting me know that the attendees enjoyed the discussion!
