In popular culture, you may have heard about the scandalous departure of Tamar Braxton from her role as co-host of Fox’s The Real. Since its premiere in the summer of 2013, Tamar has worked alongside co-hosts Adrienne Bailon, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai, and Tamera Mowry. It wasn’t until recently that Tamar learned that she was being fired from the show with no prior warning. According to claims made by her co-hosts on social media, no one knew beforehand that Tamar would be leaving the show thus no Kelly Ripa/Michael Strahan drama. Since then, the internet has been buzzing with glimpses of shade between the former cast mates, but it looks like being fired was only a minor setback for a major come back. Just this morning, Steve Harvey announced in a radio interview that his production company would be bringing Tamar on board to executive produce her own talk show!
Despite a one slip in judgement, Tamar maintained a positive attitude about her departure and professional career. This is a perfect example of how one door closing doesn’t shut you off from what is Divinely yours!
Lessons here are:
- Network before you need it
- Trust that all things work in your favor
- A ‘not now’ doesn’t not mean ‘never’
At some point in your journey toward happiness and success you’ll feel like your world is collapsing, but these are the times that your true character is revealed. These are the times that you fall back on the foundation you’ve set: your network, education, experience, support system, etc.. As Steve mentioned in his announcement, this is the result of an existing relationship with Tamar and her husband. She didn’t need to call in any favors out of the blue; the stage was already set for someone to lend her a hand when needed. Take notes here peeps.
Tamar is mouthy, fiery, but deeply connected to her faith – she embodies what SucSass is all about; kudos to her on her new journey!
