After finishing a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs, I worked as a career advisor for students and alumni at universities in Texas and North Carolina. During that time I had the pleasure of helping a diverse roster of working and aspiring professionals find jobs, internships, and fulfilling careers in industries including engineering, business, education, human services, healthcare, and much more!
I’ve always had a keen interest in how people select and perform in their jobs so I took a leap of faith and initiated my own career change. I’m now working on a second Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology (the study of workplace behavior) and am working at another institution where I help recruit, hire, develop, and retain professional staff members within a division of the university. My career counseling background has been a great foundation for my new work and I’m so excited to continue using my blog as a means of inspiring and encouraging more people to pursue lives and careers that they love.
SucSass is how I describe taking charge of your future by defining success for yourself and chasing it fearlessly. I’ve found throughout my own career (and the careers of the people I coach) that as long as you take a backseat in your decision-making, others will continue to control your happiness. Sucsass provides readers with encouragement, knowledge, and tools to take back the wheel and tell everyone else to take a hike!
